Volunteering and Internships
Because the majority of the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have largely diminished, we are once again accepting national and international volunteers and/or interns. If you feel you would be able to contribute to our mission, we’d be very happy to consider your application to join our team in Peru.
If you feel you can help our cause by working from outside Peru (for instance doing fundraising or a marketing campaign), please contact us with your proposal.
What we expect from you
We are looking for volunteers that share our vision of improving the quality of life of the youth of Ayacucho, and thus securing their basic human rights and needs (read more about our strategy and mission here). Furthermore, you need to be able to adapt to working in our team. All volunteers are expected to indulge themselves in and respect the local culture.
For our interns and volunteers, we can provide a basic form of residence. Other life necessities such as the food you will have to provide yourself.
Requirements
Does this sound like you?
Great! We look forward to hearing from you. You can contact us through the contact page or by mailing directly to info@mamaalice.org. Please include your CV and a motivational letter.
Testimonies
Here is what some of our previous volunteers have to say:
‘’Being an intern at Mama Alice was an incredible experience that I will take with me forever. The team gave me a warm welcome and friendships for life. Moreover, you get the chance to contribute to change that is received with open arms.’’
Rubia Korstanje
Intern – Policy making and Social Media
‘’I loved working at Mama Alice. My colleagues became my friends, made me feel at home, and were there when I missed my family. I am grateful to have been able to contribute to the mission of Mama Alice and to have gotten to know the families of Mama Alice.’’
Femke van Liere
Intern – Social Work
‘’At Mama Alice you get to work in a different cultural setting, in a diverse team, but with a little European comfort if needed. Working in Ayacucho enriches your professional life as well as your intercultural competence and personal life.’’
Lot Fouquet
